President’s Letter for 2009
Welcome to the all new PNSCA website for 2009. I am happy to say that we are starting the New Year with a renewed sense of enthusiasm in the association. We are seeing several new people getting involved along with long term supporters stepping up their participation.
We are very pleased to have Power Punch Performance Lubricants as the series sponsor again. In addition to total series support, their sponsorship also provides support for our year end points leaders.
Next we would like to thank Chris Williams (EMDUB Racing) for all his hard work putting together our new website. Chris has spent most of December and a lot of January designing and constructing one of the best racing sites I’ve seen.
For 2009 the PNSCA President is Ed Hauter; Vice President is John Young; Treasurer/ Secretary is Connie Schmoll. Our webmaster is Chris Williams. The current Board Members are Bob Woodruff, Sam Bacon, Chuck & Diana Linne, Rick Dearinger, and Tom Gresham. The Track Representatives will be as follows:
- Tom Gresham, Woodburn Dragstrip
- Rick Dearinger, Bremerton Raceway
- Ed Hauter, Mission Raceway
- Bob Woodruff, Spokane County Raceway
We are also happy to announce an expanded eleven-race schedule for 2009. For the first time, the PNSCA will be racing at Spokane County Raceway (June 6-7). The two traditional weekends at Woodburn are still in place starting with the Season Opener (May 16-17) and ending our season at the Fall Classic (Sept 12-13). We also plan to hold an event again at the D6 National Open at Mission Raceway with a single race on Saturday (July 25). Bremerton Raceway will kick off our season with their double header on (May 9-10) and a second double header on (Aug. 15-16). There are no races planned at Pacific Raceways for the 2009 season.
Returning in 2009 will be the same payout based on returning 84% of all the entry fees collected for each race divided amongst the winner, runner up, and third/fourth place. In 2008 we awarded an average of $1400 in prize money at each event from the entry fees and sponsorship contributions (with an average car count of 17.5).
Our hope is to revitalize the association with this diverse schedule. Please get the word out to anyone that can run the 8.90 index to come join the fun. We will continue to give a free entry to any new racer on his/her third race entered.
We are actively searching for additional sponsorship for the new season and beyond. If you or anyone you know is interested in sponsoring the PNSCA, please have them contact our Sponsorship Manager, John Young.
Thank you for your interest in the PNSCA and we hope to see you out at the races, either as a racer or a fan.
Thanks,
Ed Hauter
