2009 Year-End Awards Banquet

The Banquet was a great conclusion to a successful season. The event was expertly hosted and catered by Sam & Connie Bacon, Jeff and Hollie Yoder, and Brandon Yoder. The great meal was highlighted by Jeff and Hollie’s barbequing expertise of steak and chicken along with a potluck mountain of sides and deserts!! Sam and Connie’s motor home garage (completed only the weekend before) was the perfect room for all of the festivities.

We had nearly 50 people in attendance, with all of the top 9 finishers in the association.

The beautiful trophies by Jeff and Brandon Yoder

The beautiful trophies by Jeff and Brandon Yoder

Jeff and Brandon Yoder designed and created all the event winner and runner up trophies for the 2009 season. For the year end finishers, they went over the top with HUGE first thru third place (Bob, Rick, and John) masterpieces!!! These works of automotive art included internal lighting to highlight the incredible laser cutouts.

We had a special award that Chuck Linne put together for “2009 Rookie of the Year“. It was a hard fought battle, but EMDUB’s Emily Williams walked away with the honors after finishing in the eighth spot in points. Emily would also thank her crew chief/Dad/team owner/truck driver/pit crew, and our own webmaster, Chris Williams for her success. Plus her mom, Deb, for all her support.

Lastly, we reelected the same officers that did a wonderful job in 2009 for the up coming 2010 racing season.  Be sure to put the 2010 Meeting on your calendars (see below).

Spokane Best Package Award

During the PNSCA race in Spokane on June 8th and 9th, Bob Hallock donated $100 for the Best Package in any Super Class elimination round over the weekend. Our own Earl Cunningham had a .004 light and ran a 9.054 in the first round on Saturday to take home the cash.

It was great for Bob, a Super class racer from the Spokane area, to provide this generous Best Package Bonus. We also want to thank Lew McArthur, from the Spokane Pro Gas Association, for organizing the companion S/G and S/ST event and all his help on same weekend.  We all had a wonderful time, and enjoyed the racing at the new track.  We all look forward to returning.

Index Reminder for Spokane

We hope you’re planning to go to Spokane for the PNSCA race (June 6-7) or Divisional race (June 12-14).  If you do, please note that the Super indexes for Spokane go from .90 to .05 because of the altitude.  So Super Comp is 9.05, Super Gas is 10.05, and Super Street is 11.05.  If you have a car that runs these indexes, please join PNSCA and the Spokane Pro Gas Association at Spokane County Raceway in June.

The PNSCA Power Punch points series starts the 2009 racing season with a double header at Bremerton Raceway just west of Seattle this weekend.

Bremerton Raceway will have a test and tune on Friday afternoon with gates opening at 3:00 pm, racing starts at 4:00 pm till about 8:00 pm depending on track conditions. The cost is $25.00 for car and driver.  For more information, check out Bremerton Raceway at http://bremertonraceway.com

The PNSCA double header will start on Saturday, with gates opening at 8:00 am each day, qualifying will start at about 9:00 am each day. PNSCA will collect $60.00 each day; see Connie at Bob Woodruff’s motor home/trailer.

In 2008, the first Saturday race at Bremerton Raceway was won by our 2008 champion, Bob Woodruff. Bob has already attended five NHRA events so far in 2008. Jeff Yoder was the runner up, and has already been making laps at the Boise D6-1 event just this past weekend.

In the 2008 Sunday race, Moe Trujillo was the winner, with Donald Sefton runner up.

Make plans to join the PNSCA for this season opener, either as a racer or a fan.  Hope to see you there!
