If that date doesn’t work for everyone, we could alternately go with the following weekend (January 21). Let’s get together, celebrate the great year of racing we had, and plan for 2012!

We are looking for location suggestions in the general Seattle/Tacoma area. If anyone has any suggestions, please let us know with an email to Ed or Chris, or even a post in the forum.

A preliminary schedule for 2012 has been drafted, more on that in the next couple of days. Looks like another good year with events at tracks around the Northwest.

In the meantime, let’s celebrate 2011!

PNSCA needs more sponsors, and we need you to help find them. So we’ve developed tools to help you. Check out the sponsor information page at http://pnsca.com/sponsors/info for flyers, a list of former sponsors, and a sponsorship agreement.

But we know you need some incentive so we’ve created the first ever PNSCA Race for Sponsors Program. Here’s how it works:

For every $10 of sponsorships you bring in, you get $1 worth of credit toward entry fees. For example, for every $600 in signed agreements (and/or checks without an agreement) you bring in, you get a race entry for free. Even though this example is supporting sponsorships, this applies for all our sponsorship levels: day sponsors, associate sponsors, even series sponsors. This even works for you. If you do nothing but contribute $300 for yourself, you get $30 off a race.

And, as an added bonus, the person with the most sponsorship dollars also gets a race for free ($60 in entry fee credit), and a plaque at the banquet. If there’s a tie, the winners split the entry credit.

All prizes have no cash value, they are good for entry fees only. The contest is open until midnight the day taxes are due (April 18, 2011). The maximum credits that can be applied in a single year is $300 (five races), unused credits carry over to the next year. And if you’re wondering, no, the free entries won’t effect the payouts at the races.

All the materials you need to get sponsorships are at http://pnsca.com/sponsors/info. If you need anything to help in your search for sponsors (such as the brochure in glossy printed form) send an email to sponsorship@pnsca.com. We’re here to help.

Now go out there, get sponsors, and race for free. If you get to the semis or better, it’s like getting free money!

The PNSCA Annual Awards Banquet was held on Saturday, November 13th. It was held at the home of Howard and Diane Johnson, and co-hosted by Steve and Gail Iverson. It was a wonderful time, a great chance to get together with our racing friends, at a great venue (we all wish we had that much room to work), and the food was wonderful. Thanks to everyone who put in all the hard work to make it happen.

Beautiful Custom Trophies

Special thanks go out to Ed Hauter and Jeff Yoder who made the gorgeous custom trophies. This year, Jeff used his amazing metal working skills to create the top three trophies in the form of scoops. They are quite simply stunning. And Ed worked many hours to fashion the many individual race trophies as well as the awards for the rest of the PNSCA top 10. It’s so great that we have such talented members who can create these keepsakes.

Bob Woodruff, 2010 Champion and Ed Hauter, PNSCA President

Our season champion, in another nail-biting contest that came down to the last weekend of the year, is Bob Woodruff. Bob sealed his third consecutive PNSCA championship and his fourth in the last five years. And as usual, Bob gave a wonderful heartfelt acceptance speech punctuated by the presentation of his beautiful champion’s jacket, a gift from his fiance Connie. Congrats to Bob and Connie on another incredible year.

Finishing in second was PNSCA President, Ed Hauter. Ed was in contention for the series championship up to the last weekend of the year, and despite a valiant effort in the last two races, couldn’t just quite take the stripe. This is Ed’s second consecutive top three finish.

Rick Dearinger Collects for Third from Ed Hauter, with Connie Schmoll in the Background

Rick Dearinger also collected another top three finish and a beautiful third place trophy for his mantel. Perhaps most amazing was the fact that Rick missed the first four races of the year and still managed to finish the year in third. This performance shows what a formidable competitor Rick always is.

Dale Hrenko Checks Out the Hardware

This year’s Rookie of the Year was also named, and it was no contest. Dale Hrenko had a wonderful first year in a long, skinny car finishing in sixth place in the PNSCA championship. Dale won in Bremerton in August and made the semi-finals two other times during the year. Dale is a tough competitor and this is surely just the beginning for his PNSCA career.

Thanks again to everyone who made the banquet such a success. And special thanks to Pete and the folks at Power Punch for their continuing series support. Look forward to another great year of racing in 2011.

Where else can you spend a lousy $10 and get a meal and talk drag racing? Your $10.00 buys a choice of a 12oz filet or a half a BBQ chicken with baked potato or rice pilaf. So get off your duff and call Steve Iverson at 360 921-1042 and let him know you’re coming.

PNSCA is proud to announce that Power Punch Performance Lubricates has returned as our Series Title Sponsor. We couldn’t be happier to have them on board for another year, and we encourage all PNSCA racers to try Power Punch lubricates and spread the word to their friends.

Thanks again to Pete and the Power Punch team for their continued commitment to Super Comp racing in the Northwest. And a huge thank you to Chuck Linne for making this happen. We look forward to a great Power Punch Super Comp Series for 2010!
