Woodburn Race 1 Complete, Race 2 Rained Out

We had near perfect weather for the first PNSCA race at Woodburn’s Season Opener. We had 15 cars after two rounds of qualifying. Note, in the first round of qualifying we had a 3300 pound stock body 1958 Chevy pickup run an 8.83! But chose not to run in the PNSCA race? Earl Cunningham was number one qualifier with an 8.902 at 168 mph on his second run. (Earl ran 178 mph first run???)

Tory Lee - Runner Up

In the semi finals, Jim Glenn ran 8.929 with .003 RT, but lost to Andy Morris’s 8.901 with .027 RT. On the other side of the ladder Bob Woodruff ran 8.921 with .015 RT, but lost to Tory Lee who ran 8.924 with .008 RT.

So by 4:00 pm we are down to the final with Andy getting the win light over Tory. The Morris family is unbeatable in the last 2 weeks!!! Cheryl Morris won Boise D6 SC two weeks ago. Andy won the Second season opener here in 2008, and both races in 2010, WOW!!!! Tory has been in Super Comp since the beginning, I’m pretty sure? And has supported the PNSCA forever.

Andy Morris - Winner 2012 Race 1

Sunday was a different story, as we woke up to sprinkles, which turned into a downpour. Everyone from Saturday stuck around, but by 11:00 they had pulled the plug. Woodburn will give all PNSCA racers a $50 credit at the next race they attend there. But you must present your original receipt. Our new Race Results system also maintains everyone’s entry fee credit for the next PNSCA event they attend. All Saturday racers will be credited one point for Sunday’s race #2.

Thanks to everyone for racing, including Tom Bachand for racing with PNSCA for the first time.
