Emmett McKillop Takes the Series Crown

Emmett McKillop continued his relentless climb up the Power Punch PNSCA Series championship standings all the way to the top.  With a series of second round showings to wrap up the year, on top of three wins early in the year, Emmett surpassed Tom Gresham in the final weekend for the series title.

The finale weekend at Woodburn was a good way to wrap up the year, even though the final final round of the year was rained out.  Saturday morning dawned cool and damp, just in time for our two time runs.  Noon brought clearing skies and dramatically warmer temperatures, making eliminations quite a gamble for many.  At the end of the day, an error prone semi-final frayed nerves and had to be rerun.  But in the end, Dale Hrenko took out Ray Martin for the win.  Martin is an experienced Alaskan racer who made a great showing in Shane Molinari’s car for his first Super Comp race.  The semi-finalists were Rick Dearinger and Chuck Linne.

Sunday started with dark skies and a passing shower.  But the race went on despite the constantly threatening skies.  The race was finally called due to rain in the finals with Randy Beck and Jolene Scott splitting the final prize.  The semifinalist was Dale Green.

Once again, K&N provided prizes for a qualifier each day.  Saturday’s was taken by Rod Lee, and Sunday’s winner was Emily Williams.  The PNSCA again thanks K&N for their support of Super Comp racing in the Pacific Northwest.

Congrats to all the winners and runners-up, and especially to our season champion, Emmett McKillop.  Stay tuned to this site for information on the season ending banquet.
