Bremerton Fun

The end of June finds us at Bremerton Raceway for race 8 and 9. The weather on Thursday did not look promising, but by Saturday it was fine.

Fifteen racers came the tackle the Bremerton eighth mile track.

Darrel Petitt, Diane Petitt, Dale Green, Mark Loftis, Mark Gillespie, Dave Secondi, Dave Thornton, Tony Arthur, Brian Schmanke, Greg Pessemier, Trevor Harkema, Job Kapler, Alexis Acuna, Greg Linne, and Chuck Linne showed up to race.

First qualifying session was about 11:00 am. Darral Petitt decided to not give anybody a chance and went 5.700 on the 5.70 index. Shut the door on number one spot. Thanks to Snap-On Tools for the award. The race sponsor was Westbay Auto Parts. Just to prove it was not a fluke, Darral went 5.70 on the second qualifying pass, also.

Darral Petitt came out for the single in round one and ran a 5.695. Harkema beat C Linne on the line and won with a 5.26 to a 5.73. Pessemier had a stellar .000 light but could not slow down enough and gave G Linne the win. Loftis outran Schmanke and then Diane Petitt had a better light to put Thornton on the trailer for the day. Green used a holeshot to overcome Secondi, then Arthur used a better hole shot to beat Gillespie. Kapler got the win when Acuna roll through the start line.

On to round two. G Linne and Diane Petitt had the same .013 reaction time, but Linne was closer to the index and got the win light. Green took out the other Petitt via a .007 light and a 5.701 run. Kapler moved to the semifinal round using a .000 light to beat Loftis. Harkema beat Arthur for the other semifinal spot.

The semifinals found G Linne with a .001 light against Kapler and Linne took the win light. Harkema used a holeshot to put Green out of competition.

Final round time. It was a great race with Linne and his .002 light taking the win over Harkema.

This was Greg Linne’s first win in Super Comp, way to go Greg. Thanks to the Westbay Auto parts for the race sponsorship.

Bremerton Raceway posted an award for the Best Losing Package, which was won by Darral Petitt.

There was an awards ceremony and dinner at the Petitt pit area. Thanks to them for hosting Taco Night at the Races.

Sunday came and the sun came out in force. The race was sponsored by Cloise and Mike Construction.

Fourteen racers stayed. Darrel Petitt, Diane Petitt, Dale Green, Mark Loftis, Mark Gillespie, Dave Secondi, Dave Thornton, Tony Arthur, Greg Pessemier, Trevor Harkema, Job Kapler, Alexis Acuna, Greg Linne, and Chuck Linne.

Two qualifying sessions later, Darral Petitt was once again #1 with a 5.703. The sun must have slowed him down by .003. Snap-On Tools provided the #1 award.

In the first round we find Thornton vs. Darral Petitt. Thornton put a .021 package on the table and forced Petitt to break out. C Linne won when Pessemier rolled through the starting line. Gillespie had a holeshot win over Secondi. Loftis won when Kapler had issues on the start line. Diane Petitt went 5.704 to take the win over Arthur. Harkema won when G Linne went red and Green won when Acuna went red.

In round two, Thornton got the bye. C Linne beat Diane Petitt, Green won when Loftis went way to quick and Harkema got around Gillespie.

Then the semi final round came. C Linne won over Harkema in a double break out race. Green and Thornton had the same reaction times, but Thornton broke out and gave the win to Green.

Final round time. C Linne and Green matched up. Reaction time advantage went to Green, but he misdialed the car and went too quick by .003 to give the win the Chuck Linne. Not bad weekend for the Linne Family.

Thanks to Cloise and Mike Construction for the added money.

Next race is at Bremerton Raceway on July 20 and 21.
