Bremerton Racing

Hello racers!!!!!

We did it! We finally got a race done in 2020. What a year so far.

Bremerton Raceway was the scene. Super Comp racing was the deal. Saturday had 17 die hard racers show up to race for not only the money, but the Wally. This was a National Open in conjunction with an Association race.

Brian Schmanke, Dale Green, Darral Petitt, Dave Secondi, Dave Thornton, Diane Petitt, Emmett, McKillop, Greg Linne, Jack Stutler, Mark Gillespie, Mark Loftis, Tony Arthur, Wade Archer, John Collecchi, John Theofelis, Mark Johnson, and Kelley Cavar came and raced. The race sponsor was the Dalrymple Family.

Of course, Mother Nature had to have her say. To start the morning with mist and just enough rain to keep up off the track. Things finally got under way around 1:30 pm and we got one qualifying session done. Dale Green set the standard and got the low qualifier award with a 5.700. Snap-On Tools provided the low qualifier award.

Round one finally got started around six pm. Diane Petitt used a holeshot to defeat Gillespie. Secondi went red against Collecchi. Johnson got the head start on Darral Petitt and got to the finish line first. Then Linne won when Theofelis went red by -.007. McKillop forced Schmanke to break out and Archer went 5.700 to defeat Thornton. Loftis went 5.706 to get around Stutler who had a better light but was a little too slow. Arthur used a 5.702 to force Cavar to break out, and Green got the first-round bye.

Round two started about 7:40 pm. Linne got a better light and beat Petitt.  Green got around Loftis. Archer had a .005 light and forced Arthur to break out. Johnson ran closer to the dial to beat Collecchi, and McKillop had the bye.

Next round three, 8:15 pm, found Linne with the bye. McKillop used a .008 light to stay ahead of Archer. Green defeated Johnson, 5.711 to 5.715.

The semis were next. Time was 8:55 pm. Green had the bye, and Linne went .000 to beat McKillop on a double break out race.

OK, time for the final round. Wait it is after 9, no lights, no can see track, no race until Sunday.

Sunday came and we could not finish until the Sunday race was done, because Green did really well on Sunday, also. When Linne and Green finally met for the final, Linne had some start line issues and Green won the race.

Then we had a protest meal at the Petitt pits. Food was good.

Congrats to Dale and thanks to the Dalrymple family for the support.

Let us move on to Sunday. The rain came back. So, the track cancelled time runs for everybody except new entries.

We started racing about noon or so. We only had 16 sign up for the Association race. Brian Schmanke, Dale Green, Darral Petitt, Dave Secondi, Dave Thornton, Diane Petitt, Emmett, McKillop, Greg Linne, Jack Stutler, Mark Gillespie, Mark Loftis, Tony Arthur, Wade Archer, John Collecchi, Mark Johnson, and Kelley Cavar. Race sponsor was Parker’s Race Shoppe.

Random pair first round. Archer beat Linne on a double red light. McKillop used a .007 to beat Gillespie. Green went .000 for the win over Darral Petitt. Secondi defeated Arthur. Thornton won when Stutler went red. Loftis had a .000 light for the win over Theofelis. Diane Petitt had the bye. Cavar went 5.703 to beat Collecchi and Johnson won when Schmanke rolled through the start line.

Cavar ended up being the low qualifier and used that to have the bye in round two. McKillop won when Secondi went red. Green beat Johnson. Thornton went 5.702 to defeat Loftis. Archer used a .005 to stay ahead of Petitt.

In round three, Green won over McKillop. Archer defeated Cavar, and Thornton had the bye.

The semi final round found Archer against Thornton. Archer had a much better light and stayed ahead for the win. Green had the bye.

Final round time. Green went .031 on the tree and Archer was off his game a little. Green took the win.

So, race 3 and 4 are in the books. Dale Green missed the first two races but made up for it by taking both wins.

Our next race is at Bremerton Raceway on July 4 and 5.
