Spring Weekend at Pacific

Moving to race three of the season. Pacific Raceways was the venue. The weather was kind of iffy, but we prevailed.

There were twenty racers on Saturday. Chuck Linne, Dale Green, Darral Petitt, Dave Secondi, Diane Petitt, Greg Linne, Greg Taylor, Jiovanni Collecchi, John Collecchi, John Theofelis, Kelley Cavar, Marion Hurst, Mark Gillespie, Mark Hentges, Tony Arthur, Dave Thornton, Emmett McKillop, Tom Bachand, Tyler Bodtke, and JR Leerkamp were present. We had two qualifying session and Emmett McKillop got the #1 spot with an 8.905 pass. Greg Taylor also had an 8.905 pass, but Emmett did it first. Thanks to Snap On Tools for the #1 award. Bremerton Raceway was the event sponsor.

Round one got underway with Emmett besting John C. Then Jiovanni went 8.899 with a .006, to force Dave S to break out more. John T got the win when Tom broke out. Darral went 8.907 to beat Chuck, then Diane used a holeshot to defeat Dave T. Dale when JR was slightly late and didn’t get down the track well. Greg L got the win light because Marion went red by .002. Then Mark G used a .002 to force Tony to break out. Kelley took the stripe over Greg T and Mark H got the win because Tyler was a no show.

Did some bracket racing and then back for round two. Jiovanni went too quick but got the win due to Emmett turning on the red light. Mark H used a better light to stay ahead of Darral. Diane got the win because Greg L went red. John T and Kelley had identical .007 lights, but John did better at the finish line and got the win. Mark G stayed slightly ahead of Dale for the win.

Round three started win Jiovanni getting the bye. Mark G beat Mark H with a .029 and an 8.902 run. John T beat Diane on a holeshot run.

Semi-final round found Jiovanni, and Mark G matched up. Mark G broke out by .001 to give Jiovanni a pass into the final. John T had the bye.

In the final, John T had a .011 light, but Jiovanni had already turned on the red light. Congratulations to John Theofelis for the win. Thanks again to Snap On Tools and Bremerton Raceway for the support.

Sunday morning started a little overcast but with clearing skies. We had eighteen racers for the Sunday race. Chuck Linne, Dale Green, Darral Petitt, Dave Secondi, Diane Petitt, Greg Linne, Greg Taylor, Jiovanni Collecchi, John Collecchi, John Theofelis, Mark Cavar, Marion Hurst, Mark Gillespie, Mark Hentges, Tony Arthur, Emmett McKillop, Tom Bachand, and Megan Gaynor signed up to race. We only got one qualifying pass due the 5pm curfew. Chuck Linne got the Snap On Tools award for his #1 spot. Race sponsor was Stroh’s Automotive.

Round one started with Darral taking the win over John C. Then Mark G used a .009 light to force Dave S to break out. Emmett then took out Dale with an 8.905 pass. Tony beat a slowing Tom. Marion took out Chuck. Then in a battle of the Greg’s, Greg T went .002 – 8.875 to Greg L’s .013 – 8.870 for the win. Jiovanni and Diane had another double break out race, with Jiovanni running closer to win. John T used a .006 to force Mark H to break out more.

Round two time. Emmett and Jiovanni in a double break out affair. Emmett with the win. John T ran the stripe better and Greg T broke out. Darral beat Tony. Megan was closer than Mark G in a double break out. Marion had the bye to move on.

Round three started with Emmett having the bye. Marion used a slight hole shot to beat Darral – 8.902 to 8.904. Megan then took out John T via a holeshot.

In the semi final round, Emmett went .001 – 8.903 for the win over Marion. Megan had the bye.

Final round time. We had to wait a bit because Emmett was winning rounds in Super Pro also. Finally, Emmett and Megan staged up. Emmett had the better light and took the win. Way to go Emmett McKillop. Big thanks to Stroh’s Automotive for the sponsorship.

The next race is at Bremerton Raceway on May 15 and 16. There will be a potluck that Saturday.
