Weekend at Bremerton

Ok, the weather finally got better again. Time to go to Bremerton Raceway for the next two races.

We had eighteen racers descend on the 1/8-mile track. Chuck Linne, Dale Green, Darral Petitt, Dave Secondi, Dave Thornton, Diane Petitt, Greg Linne, Greg Pessemier, Greg Taylor, Jiovanni Collecchi, John Collecchi, John Theofelis, Marion Hurst, Mark Gillespie, Mark Hentges, Tom Bachand, Tony Arthur, and Robert Smyth were present. We had two qualifying session and Tom Bachand went 5.700 to grab the #1 spot. Thanks to Snap On Tools for the #1 award. Access Performance was the event sponsor.

Round one started and Mark G had a better light, but Dave S ran closer to the index for the win. Then Greg P chopped the tree down and defeated Mark H. Greg L used a slightly better light to beat Dale. Tony and Greg T both broke out, Tony went 5.698 to Greg’s losing 5.696. Diane and Dave T both had .026 lights, but Diane went 5.708 for the win. Then Marion went 5.706 to defeat a slower Darral. Jiovanni was the winner when Tom broke. John C was the winner because Robert went to quick. Finally, John T went 5.709 to best Chuck.

Round two found Dave S going 5.704 to defeat John C. Jiovanni had the bye. Tony and Greg L had identical lights, but Greg L broke giving the win to Tony. Greg P beat Marion on a double break out race. John T was the winner when Diane went red.

In the quarter-final round, Jiovanni got ahead of Dave S at the tree and stayed ahead for the win. John T turned on the win light against Greg P. Tony had the bye.

Three cars in the semi-final round. Jiovanni had a .005 light and was late. Tony had a .003 light and forced Jiovanni to break out. John T had the bye into the final.

It was time for the final round. John T went .000 on the tree, but Tony charged around and went 5.712 for the win.

Congratulations to Tony Arthur!!!!!. Thanks to Snap-On Tools and Access Performance for the extra goodies and money. 

Moving on to Sunday.  Chuck Linne, Dale Green, Darral Petitt, Dave Secondi, Dave Thornton, Diane Petitt, Greg Linne, Greg Pessemier, Greg Taylor, Jiovanni Collecchi, John Collecchi, John Theofelis, Marion Hurst, Mark Gillespie, Mark Hentges, Tom Bachand, and Tony Arthur.

Only one qualifying pass today. Greg L went 5.701 for the #1 spot. Thanks to Snap-On for the award. Nelson Family Racing was the event sponsor.

Round one was kind of a family affair. Diane and Darral were matched up. Then John C and Jiovanni were a pair. Mom (Diane) showed son (Darral) how to win. She went .015 and 5.705 to turn on the win light. Then the youngster Collecchi showed the older one the way. Jiovanni used a massive holeshot to defeat John C. Mark H then went .001 to put Dale on the trailer, even though Dale went 5.700. Mark H went 5.702. Dave S was the winner when Marion went .002 red, oops. Dave T defeated Mark G’s 5.700 by having a better light. Tony won the round against Tom, because Tom went red by .001, double oops. Chuck had a better light and ran closer to the index to take the win from Greg P. Greg T started his journey to stardom by going 5.700 against a break-out by John T. Greg L had the bye.

In round two, Greg T moved to round three by forcing Chuck to break out. Dave T forced Diane to break out. Then Jiovanni stayed just ahead of Greg L to get the win light. Tony was the winner when Mark H went red. Dave S had the bye.

Round three found Greg T against Jiovanni. Greg T was the winner – 5.710 to 5.713. Dave S used a .013 light to force Tony to break out. Dave T had the bye.

Then in the semi final round, the Ellensburg Dave’s faced off. Dave T was better on the tree and Dave S broke out. Greg T had the bye into the final.

Greg T was green, Dave T was not. Greg Taylor was your Sunday winner. Congratulations to Greg Taylor. Big thank you to Snap-On and Nelson Family Racing.

The next race is at Renegade Raceway in Yakima on May 29 and 30. There will NOT be a potluck that Saturday. It is an 1/8-mile race.
